Tips on Laying Parquet Flooring

Grading is an important bit of information about the wooden flooring you intend to buy. It defines the appearance of your floors and the price. We use the standard UK timber grading system.

• Rustic Grade Parquet Blocks - rich, vivid character allowing random size and form of knots and colour variation between the blocks;
• Natural Grade Parquet Blocks - more calm, natural feeling of the timber, allowing limited sized knots of up to 5 mm and almost no colour variation between the blocks;
• Prime Grade Parquet Blocks - clean oak timber without colour variation between the blocks; knots of 1 mm may appear randomly on 1 of 5 blocks.

Parquet Stock Availability

Although we try to keep our parquet flooring stock at levels, we cannot predict demand and sometimes certain grades and sizes are more popular than others.

Reclaimed or New Parquet Blocks?

Parquet blocks are timber product and as such is sensitive to moisture. Storage of flooring should be done in purpose-built warehouses, not in garages, sheds, gardens, lofts or other places where people in Lichfield would normally store things they do not need any more.
