Our tongue-and-grooved oak parquet flooring blocks are available in Prime, Natural and Rustic grades and come in 3 different sizes. These are 70 x 230 mm, 70 x 280 mm and 70 x 350 mm, all with 20 mm thickness of the block. Each pack contains an equal number of blocks of left and right-oriented fitting - ideal for the installation of the parquet flooring in a herringbone pattern. It is possible of course to lay the blocks in many other patterns as well.

The lower-positioned tongue-and-groove provides approx 12 mm of sandable depth, meaning a longer life for your floors.

Parquet Finishing & Fitting Products

We went a bit further by offering parquet flooring together with all necessary finishing and fitting products - we do parquet floor adhesives, wood floor varnish from Bona and Junckers and floor oils. We do oak thresholds and edgings and mouldings, beading in oak and MDF, skirting boards and more.

We will advise of your delivery to Canterbury within 1 hour. Parquet floor installation advice and floor finishing supplies such as floor adhesives, resin filler, varnish and oils are also available.

Parquet Stock Availability

Although we try to keep our parquet flooring stock at levels, we cannot predict demand and sometimes certain grades and sizes are more popular than others.

So, what happens when we run out of current stock? If you have placed your order through our website and the blocks are currently not available, we will be in contact to advise you of this. We will offer you a full immediate refund if you need the flooring within a few days and we will offer a delayed delivery, which should be within 2 weeks with the next re-stocking.

Our Oak Parquet Blocks Grading System

If you are planning to buy wooden flooring, then you make yourself familiar with timber gradings. The UK has a standard with 3 levels of grading.

• Rustic Grade Parquet Blocks - rich, vivid character allowing random size and form of knots and colour variation between the blocks;
• Natural Grade Parquet Blocks - more calm, natural feeling of the timber, allowing limited sized knots of up to 5 mm and almost no colour variation between the blocks;
• Prime Grade Parquet Blocks - clean oak timber without colour variation between the blocks; knots of 1 mm may appear randomly on 1 of 5 blocks.

New or Reclaimed Blocks?

Oak parquet flooring like any other wooden product is sensitive to moisture and therefore it is of great importance to be stored in dry places until used. Such places are supplier's warehouses, but cannot be garages, sheds, gardens, lofts or other places where people in Canterbury would normally store things they do not need any more.

This real-life example of how thousands of pounds can be wasted in fitting "free reclaimed blocks from my uncle's house" or "the cheap oak blocks I bid on eBay", can, later on, show how they can buckle up or crack, just weeks after the floor installation.

Let's not forget as well that sanding parquet blocks of different heights, will take much more consumables and time than finishing new blocks. This is just one example, showing why fitting reclaimed blocks will be much more expensive than new blocks.
