Privacy Policy

Our clients' privacy is of the highest importance to us. Oak Parquet Flooring will never consider releasing your personal details to any outside company for any marketing purposes. We may, however, contact you occasionally via email with offers and information that may be of interest to you, but you can unsubscribe from this service at any time by following the instructions within the email. All information gathered including any information given at the time of ordering is collected lawfully and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), effective as of 25th of May 2018.

Data Collection

Any and all data we collect from our clients, such as first name, last name, address, e-mail, phone number, and any other similar information requested during the registration process, is kept in compliance with the existing data protection laws. The above personal information they have disclosed with us is used solely by Oak Parquet Flooring. Our goal by asking them for it is to enable the opportunity to order and receive any and all products available on the website or in the store. The information in question will not be accessible by third parties, except for the delivery companies we work with – Royal Mail and Parcel Force, and we provide them with the bare minimum of information so that they can deliver your goods to the client’s address.

The personal data is kept on our database for a maximum period of 5 years, or until our clients decide to remove it, by asking our staff members to do it for them. Our clients keep the right to export this information and ask for it to be changed or removed (in case they can’t do it manually). The personal information our employees come in contact is limited to the minimum they require to carry their work-related tasks and they are compelled by contract to never provide it to third parties. Oak Parquet Flooring will not collect any sensitive data, such as origin, ethnicity, sexual preference and so on.

Payments Security

To maintain our payments secure, we have selected a reliable payment provider such as SagePay. Our site uses high-level SSL encryption technology, required by security software currently available for online transactions. You can rest assured that we take the privacy and security of your payment and personal details very seriously.

How we use cookies

Cookies, like in many online shops, are used to store information about the products you are purchasing. Another function they have helps the shopping basket remember items while you browse our site. Once you have completed a sale, the cookie is deleted. No personal data is held in the cookies, it is just a reference number of products to identify the items you have in your basket.

We use cookies as well to identify which pages are being visited. This is necessary so we can analyse data about webpage traffic and improve our website in order to adapt it to our customers’ needs.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. Our cookies do not give us access to your computer or any information about you.

By continuing to use our website you are indicating your acceptance of the use of cookies as described above. If you do not agree with this policy, please disable or restrict the use of cookies in your browser, before continuing to use our site. Instructions on how to disable cookies are specific to the browser type you are using but can usually be found on the browser manufacturer’s website.
