A Junckers floor is a key design feature in harmony with the whole interior creating a unique atmosphere and individual style, but the floor is also to great extent a performance partner for the athlete which will give the ultimate in freedom of movement, protection against injury and ensuring athletes can achieve their best.
Oak is known for its superior hardness and durability, it is a timeless species used for centuries. Black Oak was originally a natural product of the forest - yet it was no tree. In former days black oak occurred when an oak trunk had rested a few hundred years in marshland. A natural process turned the wood black. Junckers has recreated the distinct, exclusive expression through a unique full-thickness vacuum dyeing process.
Some sections are left untouched by the colouring process, leaving natural blonde highlights randomly throughout this colour-penetrated floor.
Harmony grade is the unique name that Junckers have given to their natural grade products. Harmony boards have natural appearance with some colour and grain variation. It is also characterised by sound medium-sized black knots, knots on edges of boards and knots in clusters, hairline splits, sapwood and sapwood streaks.
Underfloor heating works to perfection under Junckers solid hardwood floors because, unlike tiles and stones, solid wood is naturally warm and pleasant, whether or not the heating is on.
Each board is assembled from two rows of staves by a glued double dovetail construction. Each board is tongue and grooved on all four sides.
